Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does counselling cost?
The first meeting/chat is free (15 minutes), thereafter £45 per counselling session (one hour).

  • How do I pay for my sessions?
Payment is required before each session by internet bank transfer. Your appointment is confirmed when payment has been received. Receipts are always available upon request.

  • Where will the counselling take place?
Appointments can be held face to face in my peaceful and comfortable practice room in Skelmersdale (see picture), or online using Zoom
My counselling practice is in a quiet area of Skelmersdale, within easy reach of Ormskirk, Burscough, Southport, and Liverpool, only 5 minutes from the M58 and 7 minutes from the M6.

  • When can I have an appointment?
Appointments are available from Tuesdays to Saturdays in the daytime between 10am-4pm.
Usually I will be able to offer you an appointment within a week of you contacting me, and I aim to reply to all messages and emails within 24 hours.

  • How many sessions will I have?
This is always up to you and differs with each individual. Some clients may feel they only need a few sessions over several weeks, while others may need longer. In the initial meeting we will discuss this and decide how long we plan to be together, although I always schedule a review at regular intervals to allow you to change this if desired. Sessions are usually held weekly and last one hour.

  • Is it confidential?
All counselling is private and confidential, apart from exceptional circumstances where there is any risk of harm to yourself or another person, which I will explain fully at the initial meeting.

  • How do I start?
I understand that you might be nervous or unsure, so I invite you to call or email me for an initial free 15 minute chat (phone or online), when you will have the opportunity to meet me, ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have, and decide if it’s for you. We can discuss your needs and plan when to start your counselling if you decide to go ahead.

  • Do you only see people with loss?
